Ding Lee third time sworn in as Presiding President of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association


Ding Lee, President of Hoy-SunNing Yung Association, was sworn in as the Presiding President of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association for September and October. This is the third time for Lee to hold that position to lead the association, the largest family association organization in Chinatown.
Lee was sworn in by Chinatown elder Mel Lee. Wing Zhang, past Presiding President of the Association, handed over the seal to Lee in the inaugural ceremony.
Zhang, who is also the President of Sam Yup Benevolent Association, has made efforts to promote Chinatown economy and protect the community during the pandemic. He helped to raise funds to support Wuhan in the pandemic.
Lee spoke in the ceremony that he would work hard to balance the up and down relationship between US and China. He urged the Chinese community to return the census forms and register as voters to vote in the November 3 election. If Proposition A is passed by San Francisco voters in November, the city would be able to allocate funding to rebuild Portsmouth Square in Chinatown funding by the city to help.
