East West Bank Stockton Street Branch in Chinatown reopens after two-year seismic retrofit construction

(SAN FRANCISCO) East West Bank Stockton Street Branch in Chinatown reopens after two-year seismic retrofit construction. The bank management has committed to provide a better service to small business and individual customers.
The Southern California based East West Bank is one of the largest Chinese American-founded banks with over 120 offices across the nation and in China. There are six branches in San Francisco Chinatown.
Assemblyman David Chiu, Chinatown/ North Beach Supervisor Aaron Peskin, Central Police Station Acting Captain Douglas Farmer, Former Recreation and Park Commissioner Allen Low, Chinese Chamber of Commerce President Eddie Au and guests joined the bank management in the ribbon cutting ceremony on September 17 to celebrate the reopening.

After reopening, the Stockton Street branch provides a bigger room for more service to the customers by adding the adjacent storefront space.
Ena Chau, an immigrant from Macau, has worked at the same branch location for 45 years. She still enjoys her time serving the customers and has no plan to retire.
