(SAN FRANCISCO) Salesforce announces a $1 million fund to be created for the small businesses in San Francisco. Each small business will receive a $10,000 grant. Salesforce employees visited Chinatown last week to encourage small businesses to apply.

Three women employees of Salesforce walked through Chinatown in the company of CCDC staffers to pass out the flyers of the grant program.

This is the second year for Salesforce to offer grants to the small businesses. Hanna Zhang, who owns icafe Bakery on Waverly Place in Chinatown, was encouraged to apply for the grant. "I will apply for it which is very significant and helpful to all small businesses. We have not recovered from the pandemic yet. Customers have not been back to Chinatown as normal days to shop, also due to the crime issue," said Zhang.

The application process for the $10,000 grant began on September 27. The deadline will be midnight on October 17. Eligible companies must be located in San Francisco. They have to be for-profit businesses and hire 2 to 50 employees. They must be in business at least for a year from September 2020.

Applications can be submitted online through the website: Salesforce.com/sfmallbizgrants.
