(San Francisco) The children who are aged 5 - 11 are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations starting November. Chinese Hospital hosted its first free COVID-19 vaccinations event for the children in the hospital on November 12.

"In our first event of COVID-19 vaccinations for the children, we will administer 100 children who are mostly the residents in the Chinatown neighborhood and nearby areas," said Gina Ko Yam, Director of Operations at the Chinese Hospital.

The vaccination event was held in the conference room of the hospital and in partnership with San Francisco Department of Public Health. In addition to the first event, Chinese Hospital would host more free COVID-19 vaccination events with other organizations at different venues for the children who are primarily elementary school students.

"The children will have less side effects after the vaccinations compared to the adults," said Yam. "All parents can bring their children to the Chinese Hospital for COVID vaccinations daily from 3 to 5 pm after school. It is a walk-in and free service in the hospital."

The Daly City Clinic of the Chinese Hospital will also provide free COVID-19 vaccinations daily for children ages 5 - 11. Yam suggested the parents to make appointments in advance before they visit the Daly City Clinic.
